Well here I am a little late to the 2017 party. Happy New Year everyone. 2016 was a complete whirlwind ending with the glorious craziness that is Christmas at SOWINS. I feel as thought I am just recovering now.
I made the major major decision to stop being the importer of encaustic art supplies from the Netherlands. It was really killing my soul and not feeding my heart. It was a really tough decision - well not so tough - just sad as that was what Thea my mentor did and it felt like keeping her with me but that was not really the case. It was like letting a big part of her finally go. Now I am just another art supplier in a giant pond of people doing the same. But, I am 100% happy with the decisions. Plus I still get to keep in contact with all of the amazing people I have met over the years. That part was always soul feeding :) And I still sell supplies - I am just not responsible for bringing them into the country - whew!
This year is going to be a big one with the invitation to attend the 11th Annual Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, MA. OMG!!!!! It is going to be so amazing to meet all of these incredible artists and teachers. I have to stay far far away from the vendor room. LOL I will be launching a Kickstarter later in March/April to help fund the trip. Sponsors will receive a whole trove of goodies from art supplies, paintings, classes with me, and so much more!
Another real cool thing is I will now be teaching out of the SOWINS Training Room so a portion of all my class fees will be benefiting the South Okanagan Women in Need Society! Woot Woot!
That's my catch up for now.
