You will have to excuse me this month. I am very, very excited!!!
My parents and I are going on trip to North Carolina later this year - this is where I was adopted from many moons ago. We left to move to Canada when I was just a little baby and I have never been back. It is going to be a very emotional journey. We will visit all of the places my family used to go and also the Children's Home Society that I was adopted from. And of course, I have a list of artists that I am very excited to meet and hopefully interview - all of which I will share with you on my blog.
I will be fundraising in the coming months to bring art supplies and another items to the children who are currently in care at the Children's Home Society (CHS). Art has always been a healing force in my life and I have been very fortunate to have had access to art supplies and wonderful teachers. Through my work with the SOWINS WE: Inspire project it has been reinforced to me the beauty and power of art making. I would love to be able to share this with the children of CHS too.
Also tugging on the heartstrings this month is a call for artists celebrating the wonderful Thea Haubrich and the relaunching of the Brilliant Moments exhibition.
I have two scheduled encaustic classes so far this year and am preparing to launch a series of mixed media classes later this spring. I have been thinking of having an open studio at the Leir House in Penticton for a few hours once per month on an evening. If any of these items interest you, please let me know and I can give you more information.
Happy Painting and have a wonderful day!
